MIDDLE WALLOP

17TH APRIL 2006
(EASTER MONDAY)

FUN FLYING AND TRIMMING DAY

(TRIAL EVENT)

You should be aware that we did not get our usual dates this year at Wallop. A lot of work by many people has gone into getting this far with the authorities, not just in the past weeks but since last December, please don’t let us down.

This event is taking place under very strict control as a trial to see how we and the Army Flying Association (AFA) can operate together and is subject to final approval at a meeting between your representatives and the CFI (Chief Flying Instructor) of Middle Wallop on Wednesday 12th April.

YOU MUST CHECK THE SAM 1066 WEB SITE BEFORE THE EVENT TO CONFIRM THAT IT IS ON BEFORE TRAVELLING

http://www.cavgrove.freeserve.co.uk/sam.html

We also have to arrange radio contact with the AFA and it is anticipated that, should this day work (and it better!), that we would have to buy a transceiver (we may have the use of an ‘old’ radio already for this trial day), and possibly arrange training for its use as a licence is required. If anyone has a CAA radio operators licence and/or is available to attend that day please contact me ASAP.

Make no mistake, this is our LAST chance to prove that we can cooperate with ALL other airfield users and thus the day may well be disrupted, we will stop flying as and when necessary. If you feel this is unfair please DO NOT ATTEND, we only want people there who can act responsibly. Anyone not acting responsibly will be asked to leave immediately. I apologise in advance if anyone is offended but we are not in a position to negotiate.

ALL flyers MUST be BMFA members.

There will be no pre-organised events, if people want to do something on the day bearing in mind the aforementioned possible disruptions then they are welcome to do so.

LET’S MAKE IT WORK AND GET BACK TO OUR OLD WALLOP CALENDAR
